Katie Chism

Katie grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and received her B. S. in Chemistry at Colorado State University. She worked with Professor Garret Miyake on organocatalyzed-atom transfer radical polymerization. Katie also was a post-baccalaureate intern at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colorado for a year working with Dr. Gregg Beckham on lignin derived bio-advantaged materials. Katie is excited to explore all things polymer chemistry at UW–Madison. Outside of the lab, Katie enjoys hanging out with her cat, climbing, and completing reasonably sized puzzles.
