Biography

Danniel graduated from Iowa State University in 2019 with a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering and a second major in Chemistry. There, he worked on developing new isothiazole syntheses and linear free-energy relationships of ESIPT fluorophores under the direction of Prof. Brett VanVeller. In 2025, he graduated from Texas A&M University with a Ph.D. in Chemistry under the mentorship of Prof. Andy A. Thomas. At TAMU, he developed new strategies for continuous flow ozonolysis and designed an LED-incorporated rapid-injection NMR system. Danniel joined the Cooper group August 2025 and is excited to apply his skillset in synthetic chemistry to address pressing polymer challenges. In Danniel’s free time, he enjoys writing, running, woodworking, and spending time with his family.
